You are now at the advice and information section and we do hope you have read the preceding pages but its not essential if you have not done so. If you are reading this page you have possibly had the uncomfortable experience of the dreaded prosecution notice in your post

Irrespective of the reasons of why you are here we feel confident that, from this page, you will find information that you will not have seen anywhere else on the internet. Furthermore it is unlikely you would get this information in the form of legal advice from a solicitor. This could be because they are inexperienced but more likely because they are bound by law society rules that prevent giving information that could be construed as unethical. We are under no such constraints.

Then there is the expense - some solicitors are first rate-but they will charge a first rate price for their services. Add to this the costs (following conviction) and you will be suprised how much of a dent court cases make on your bank balance

For example, and remember these are minimum figures, £60 fine + £35-50 Costs - £100. In reality Magistrates increase the fines relative to the activation speed. 

Also 3 points on your licence is discloseable to your insurance company which means if you dont disclose the conviction your insurance is likely to be invalid.

Also the extra points will cause a big increase on your premium ( The current average is £40 premium increase per 3 points)

Here is a small snapshot of what you can expect

Cameras……….Anyway not all fixed cameras are active! There are plenty of sites authorised but activating them is a different matter. The cost of the internal camera and flasher unit is high and they simply cannot afford to have all the cameras operating.

For a start they could not handle the workload as most camera partnerships are at capacity now and could not cope with the extra work.

We hear you say “so what I cannot take the risk because I cannot know if the camera is working or not “

Yes you can! Just look at the camera if the bottom right hand screen is black that means the flasher unit and the camera is not fitted- this obviously………………..

Procedure… even then under no circumstances volunteer your Date of Birth. We know from the inside of the courts system that the absence of this causes them big problems. they cannot……………………….. 

 

Tactical…and 79mph in a 50 limit may get you a ban. You then have a tactical option to stick with the failing to furnish and plead guilty to that charge. The FTF offence is  3 points and £60 plus costs – better then a ban!!
